In the luxurious private room, music and boisterous cheers mingled together. A group of wealthy young masters gathered, drinking and discussing some project, while on the other side, another group held cards in their hands, cigarettes dangling from their mouths, playing and taunting each other. The air was thick with the mingled scents of cigarette smoke, alcohol, and perfume. In the private room, even the smallest items were precious and rare. Han Lam Vien sat on a single sofa in the private room, ignoring the cheerful people cheering around him. He closed his eyes to rest, his face etched with fatigue. On the table in front of him, there was only a cup of warm water. Today was the birthday of a friend in his group. He had just come out of the operating room, and it was already late. Han Lam Vien had showered, changed, and then immediately joined them, without getting any rest at all. A friend walked over and sat down next to him, shaking his wine glass and looking at him with concern. "Han Lam Vien, you look so tired today. Why don't you go up to the mezzanine room upstairs and get some rest?" Han Lam Vien raised a hand to rub his aching temples. "I've been standing in the operating room all day, so my body is a bit tired. I just came to wish him a happy birthday for a bit. I'm heading back to the hospital now; I still have early work tomorrow." "You, you can't just settle down as a pampered young master and inherit the Han Corporation. You just had to go open a hospital and become a doctor. You're busy in the operating room all day, with no time to rest." Han Lam Vien smiled, then stood up. "I'm leaving now. You guys keep playing." "Alright, go get some rest early." Han Lam Vien walked over to say a few words to the host of the party. The two smiled, patted each other on the shoulder, and said goodbye. Han Lam Vien hadn't drunk any alcohol all evening, but already tired, and with the added noise of the private room, his body was completely drained. The driver was already waiting at the door, awaiting his young master's command. Han Lam Vien lay back on the rear seat. The road back to the hospital was still long, so he could still manage to catch some sleep. After sleeping for a bit in the car, Han Lam Vien was more awake as they neared the hospital gate. He told the driver to park at the hospital gate. He wanted to walk to the hospital dormitory himself. This hospital was largely established thanks to his efforts; he was the largest shareholder. The benefits for employees were very generous; even the hospital staff dormitory was considered top-tier. Therefore, many people vied to apply for jobs at the hospital. Han Lam Vien also kept a private room here. At first, he only stayed to rest when there were late surgeries. But in recent years, he practically treated the dormitory room as his own home, returning there to stay every day. It was late June. The weather was scorching during the day, but at night, the wind was surprisingly cool and pleasant. Han Lam Vien walked along the sycamore-lined path towards the dormitory. Past eleven at night, there were still people moving about in the hospital area, but near the dormitory, it was pleasantly quiet. The space was so quiet that even the sound of his shoes couldn't be heard, so the soft sound of quiet sobbing from the lakeside gently reached Han Lam Vien's ears. There were always strange rumors circulating in the hospital. If a girl were walking past here now, she would probably have been scared unconscious. Han Lam Vien looked towards the lakeside, searching for the source of the crying. The streetlights didn't illuminate the lakeside clearly. He only saw a small figure sitting on a stone bench, with their back to him.
