The frigid air of Heavenly Mountain, perpetually covered in ice and snow, echoes with the heavy breaths of a young man. Exhausted from scaling the towering peak – the highest and most treacherous in the Phi Mã Lạp Sơn range of Nam Xương – he pauses to rest. At twenty-two or twenty-three, tall and handsome, he wears three layers of black clothing, yet sweat beads on his forehead. His perilous journey up the mountain has one purpose: to find the incredibly rare Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus. This precious herb is his only hope to cure a grave illness and save a life. He recalls that the Snow Lotus grows exclusively on black granite. However, as he surveys the vast expanse of black granite surrounding him, a frown creases his brow. 'How am I supposed to find it here?' he wonders, a hint of frustration in his voice.
